Chord Explorer — Privacy Policy

The short version

Chord Explorer needs no account and collects no personal data itself. Everything you do — chords, progressions, settings — stays on your device. The Android app shows advertising served by Google AdMob, which involves Google processing device data as described below.

Data the app itself handles

No account, no sign-up. There is nothing to register.
Local only. Selections and progressions live in the app/browser on your device and in links you choose to share. We operate no server that receives them.
Website audio. Instrument samples are fetched from public content-delivery hosts; those requests carry your IP address like any web request.

Advertising (Android app)

The Android app displays banner advertising via Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process:

device identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID),
coarse device and network information (model, OS version, IP address),
ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, crash/diagnostic signals).

This processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob policies. In the European Economic Area and the UK, the app shows a consent dialog (Google UMP) before personalized ads are requested; you can decline personalized advertising there, and you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalization in Android settings at any time.

Children

The app is a general-audience music-theory tool and is not directed at children.

Changes

If data practices change (for example, new ad formats), this page will be updated and the effective date revised.
